Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Hamilton Team.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in the tendering and pricing of civil infrastructure projects, providing accurate and competitive estimates across a range of works, from water and wastewater pipelines to large-scale siteworks and structures.

Working closely with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership, you’ll help shape winning bids and ensure the financial and technical integrity of project proposals.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for civil and infrastructure projects, particularly within the 3 Waters sector.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and validate costs.
  • Identify and assess project risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project and delivery teams to ensure seamless handover from tender to construction.
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating tools, systems, and processes.

Skills And Experience

  • 3-5 years' tendering experience within 3 Waters, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of local construction methodologies, materials, and cost structures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills.
  • Hands on experience working on tenders and bids and their complexities.
  • A result focused, commercially astute outlook and a practical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to handle a diverse workload along, whilst finding creative and forward-thinking solutions.
  • Technical qualifications preferred.
  • Sound contractual knowledge especially NZS 3910:2013
